What is "StoryLou?"

HOW IT ALL STARTED:

In May of 2023 my wife's grandmother Lou "Gaga" started her end of life journey. She had experienced several other health scares where we all thought it was her time, but each time Gaga "My father in laws mother" would pull through. But this time everybody knew that the time was near, and that there would not be another pull through. While Gaga was in the hospital hundreds of miles away, my wife was able to talk to her one last time by video call.

I remember overhearing the call and thinking to myself how we are so fortunate to live in a day and age that allows us to talk to somebody face to face in real time, yet be hundreds or thousands of miles away from each other. Later that Saturday night we were sitting outside around the fire pit talking about how time is so valuable and that once it's gone it's gone. I proposed an Idea to my wife that we should video interview and record Gaga's life story. We brainstormed the idea and decided that we needed to make it happen. Sunday came and passed, Monday and Tuesday also came to pass, and I let the business of life become front and center over getting this done. That Wednesday morning Lou left this world. The second I heard the news I became extremely upset with myself. I knew from my 46 years of life on this earth coupled with working in the fire service for over a decade while seeing too many people leave this world, that life is finite.... And that when it's over it is over. I had missed "the interview."

THE RESULT:

As a result, I decided to start StoryLou, a platform where every single person has the opportunity to tell their story, in their way. We know that Gaga Lou would be so proud to have her name on a project as meaningful as this!

MY THOUGHTS:

When you watch a loved one speak from the heart, it makes time seem timeless. But when it's with you forever and you can watch it time and time again, whenever you need it, it becomes priceless.

I know that we missed what would have been the perfect interview with Gaga Lou, but from it we found that we never wanted anybody else to miss this same opportunity again with their loved ones.

Sincerely
